New Leadership for the New Year
Well-Rounded Educator Dr. Patricia Arnold Will Lead Pikes Peak Prep into the Future

December 22, 2008

Dr. Patricia Arnold serves as our new principal beginning January 2, 2009 and we’re fortunate to have her. References refer to her as a “turnaround artist,” a curriculum specialist, a professional, and committed to excellence.  We are extremely excited to have her join the team.  She will help us take our school to its next level of excellence.

For the past two years, Dr. Arnold has directed the Business of Arts Center in Manitou Springs. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice President of Education and Workforce Development for the Space Foundation in Colorado Springs, and she has worked for Fountain/Ft. Carson and within Colorado Springs District 11.  She received her Ph.D. in Leadership and Innovation from the University of Colorado, her Administrator’s certificate from U of C, her M.A. in Leadership and Innovation from U of C, and her B.A. in education from Tabor College.

The selection process included parents, students, and staff, as well as members of our school board.  All agreed Dr. Arnold was the top choice among many applicants.

Please give Dr. Arnold a warm 21st Century welcome and voice your thanks to Interim Principal Steffany Vance for her hard work and dedication during this period of transition. Ms. Vance will be returning to her classroom for the Spring semester.
