THE GAZETTE: Charter school will get new name
March 13, 2009
The Pikes Peak Prep is getting a new name to better reflect its mission. It will be known as Pikes Peak Prep because "we want students who are coming here to go to college," said Kevin Teasley, president and chief executive officer of the foundation that oversees the school.
The school offers a "Middle College" program in which eligible high school students can earn college credits without charge.
The school's board OK'd the name change this week, but the school will go by both names until signs and other information can be changed, Teasley said. The K-12 school serves about 200 students. For more information, go to www.21ccharter.org/Colorado.
