What is her hope for her students?
I hope for all of the students to become lifelong learners with an educated voice, a strong belief of self-worth, and an unbreakable drive for success.

Biography:
Mrs. Anderson was born and raised in Carmel, Indiana. She has been working with children in different school settings since she was in high school. Mrs. Anderson received two degrees from Indiana State University in the areas of Early Childhood Education and Kindergarten-Primary Education.

She began her teaching career in Indianapolis, IN working for Head Start teaching preschoolers. A year later, Mrs. Anderson moved to northwest Indiana and began teaching kindergarten at Ambassador Academy. Mrs. Anderson taught kindergarten at Ambassador Academy for five years and sat on the ACSI accreditation team.

Mrs. Anderson started working for 21st Century Charter School five years ago as the kindergarten teacher. She looped with her kindergarten students and began teaching first grade. Mrs. Anderson taught first grade for three years. While at 21st Century Charter School @ Gary, she has mentored two student teachers from two different colleges.

Mrs. Anderson is currently the Title 1 Reading teacher for the school. She is also the assistant volleyball coach for the Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams. Furthermore, Mrs. Anderson is an active member of several committees for the school.
