The Way Things Work
June 16–20  |  (Grades 3–5)  |  $ 150

Why does pop fizz?  How can a bicycle teach us physics?  Why do we need refrigerators?  How does a dryer dry our clothes? Can we Save the Earth?
July 21–25  |  (Grades 6–8)  |  $150

Headlines scream:  “Melting Ice Caps will Flood the World’s Coastlines”, “Water Shortages May be the Cause of World War III”, “Fuel Supplies Will Run Out by 2050”, and “Loss of Plant and Animal Species Threaten All Life on Earth”.   Just how true are these concerns?  Do all scientists agree?  Why or why not?  How will these problems affect your life?  Learn more about the some of the environmental issues facing the world today,  what changes may occur in your lifetime, and how technology and science may help. View Flyer.



Myths and Misconceptions
July 28 – August 1  |  (Grades 9–11)  |  $150

Did Ben Franklin’s kite really get struck by lightning?  Does water swirl down a sink in the opposite direction in the U.S. than it does in Australia?  Can you really use statistics to prove anything?  In this camp you will explore ideas in science and math that are widely believed to be true, but may be myths and misconceptions.  Bring your own questions with you, too! CAMP GEMS (Girls Empowered in Math and Science)
July 7–18  |  (Girls Only Ages 11 – 14)  |  $200

This collaborative camp with Girls Inc. will engage girls in math, science and empowerment activities.  Girls will explore math and science through workshops, field trips, and exciting new activities intermixed with Girls Inc. empowerment activities and career exploration.  It is sure to be a camp experience filled with discovery, exploration and lots of fun!
